Senate confirms Chris Magnus as CBP commissioner

The Senate confirmed former Tucson Police Chief Chris Magnus as the next U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) commissioner! He was confirmed by a 50-47 vote, with Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine) voting with Democrats for confirmation! Chief Magnus was nominated in April by President Biden. CBP has over 60,000 employees which include border agents, customs officers and support personnel.
