Report: U.S. Economy Has Lost as Many as 1.2 Million Foreign-Born Workers Since January

The American Immigration Council (AIC) has released all fifty states and the District of Columbia, for a total of fifty-one updated state-by-state fact sheets highlighting immigration data and facts. These fact sheets highlight the demographic and economic impact of Immigrants in each state.
With national immigration policy being discussed, we thought that it would be a good time to provide some statistics on the Immigrant population in the United States as provided by this AIC research. Once a week we will be posting a blog with information on three states at a time. This week we will highlight; West Virginia, Wisconsin and Wyoming!

On Wednesday, August 6th, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) that they were removing the age limits for hiring U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Agents! The age limit was from 21 to around 40, it will now start at age 18 with no upper age limit! Congress has given the Trump Administration enough money to hire 10,000 more ICE agents to help with their deportation plans!

On Tuesday, July 15, 2025, the United States Senate confirmed Joseph B. Edlow as the new Director of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). Director Edlow stated, “Today marks the beginning of a new era for USCIS. Together we will forge ahead to realize the mission of an agency born out of the horrific terror attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, to meet ever-evolving threats and ensure that we serve as the frontline to safeguard our homeland.”
